Annexation BC Platform
- Our GOAL is to give BC citizens and government a "CHOICE and a VOICE" for the first time. A voice in Washington, DC that BC has never received in Ottawa and a choice of economic growth and self determination on local issues that is now denied by Ottawa.
- Because of the US Constitutional Guarantee of individual states rights, BC residents and voters will have more local control over essential provincial (state) issues such as education, medical care, language and trade to name a few.
- For well over 100 years the citizens of BC have made demands for a VOICE in the affairs of BC and the rest of Canada, but have been ignored by Ottawa. Time and history have proven this will never happen in our lifetime as a province in Canada. But, as a state, BC will have more control over our own local and state affairs, and a larger independent influence in the future of North America and the rest of the world.
- The Party will move to end the GST tax, once and for all.
- The United States understands that in order for business to grow, taxes must be lowered. Low tax rates bring economic growth. It leaves the people's money in the people's hands for business and for saving. Our slogan will be "Put the People's Money in the People's Pockets" and not in the government's pockets with high tax rates.
- This shift to lower tax rates will give BC residents the CHOICE of relief from the massive taxation imposed on Canadians by Ottawa, thus allowing British Columbians to keep and enjoy more of the fruits of their labor.
- Our Federal personal income tax rate in statehood will be far lower than we presently pay Ottawa as a province, and any state taxes will be our own CHOICE after the VOICE of the people has been heard.
- The union of BC with the US will eliminate the need for taxes, duties and tariffs on our products bound for the US, such as forest products, and will eliminate duties and taxes on incoming US goods. True free trade is needed to stimulate growth and promote the personal wealth of the citizens. More business means more employment and more employment means more personal wealth.
- On the day of "Electoral Victory", ALL monies bound for Ottawa under the banner of Canadian federal taxes will be held here in a British Columbian trust fund until diplomatic negotiations are completed and BC's acceptance into statehood.
i.e.: GST, gasoline tax, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc...
- It will allow BC to open it's doors and ports wider to global trade and the world market, thus creating more jobs and business opportunities for British Columbians.
- It will open up our harbors, ports, railways and trucking for expanded United States trade with China, Southeast Asia and the rest of the world. We will open "a new trade window to the world".
- As a state, BC will have far more control over the present and future management and conservation of BC's natural resources for future generations.
- Gas and oil, lumber and timber, mining, fisheries, water and hydro electricity are all of major economic importance and can be better managed from home.
- Statehood would eliminate the need to penalize BC, through taxation, for it's lumber exports to the US.
- By becoming a state the problem of "stealing" salmon from each other will be eliminated. Future fishery negotiations will be dealt with on equal grounds, thus bringing an end to the "Salmon Wars" and opening the door for unified management of America's fresh and saltwater fisheries.
- For the first time BC will experience True Free Trade with the US by eliminating US/BC border taxes and duties and put an end forever to lengthy border crossing delays.
- Free immigration between the United States and British Columbia would allow citizens of both countries the freedom to seek employment, unite families and enjoy the opportunity to travel wherever one pleases. This will promote greater tourism and cash flow to BC.
- BC would be able to join US Securities Markets to raise capital, promote stock growth and enjoy greater capital investment in local business.
- As a state many of BC's professionals, such as doctors, nurses, and business leaders, would return to British Columbia. Other talented, skilled and highly educated persons from the rest of America and around the globe would migrate to BC, and the few we have left would remain.
- The implementation of our new student loan programs would further encourage talented, skilled and highly educated students to remain in British Columbia after graduation.
- Under the US Federal state system, education and health care are the responsibility of each local state. British Columbia would be free to develop it's own education and health care.
- The State of British Columbia would focus on long-term resolutions to such issues as education, health care & native negotiations, to name but a few.
- To encourage students to stay in school for higher education, the Party would propose that BC write off student loans by applying 50% of their personal income tax to loan reduction, starting immediately after graduation. This would create a direct link to employment, paying off student loans, and give our young people the strong start they need in today's world.
- The new jobs and economic opportunities generated by becoming a state will create a large pool of hard-working, willing tax payers, thus increasing government revenues at a local and state level. British Columbians will be far more willing to pay a portion of their earnings for better health care and education when they have good-paying jobs, lower taxes and money in their pockets. "Let's get everyone back to work".
- We will suggest that everyone in BC pay a "deductible" on all medical plan usages. This will eliminate health system abuses of our hospitals and doctors. (Deductible rates according to earnings).
- Full integration of First Nations People with all the benefits and responsibilities of all Americans. The years of stalled negotiations and delays have damaged relations and continue to delay future opportunities for Native American people.
- Elimination of the BC / US border would allow industry and projects like the proposed Sumas, Washington Generating plant (SE2) to be constructed in remote areas of BC where they won't affect the Fraser Valley's air quality. Perhaps then projects like SE2 could be applauded as job creators, environmentally responsible and new benchmarks, instead of being protested.
- The construction of new oil and gas pipelines through BC from Alaska will not only create a large, new, long term job market, but will also reduce the potential for environmental catastrophes, such as oil spills along our beautiful coasts.
- The future belongs to industry with proven track records of not only conforming and complying with environmental standards, but also going beyond. It is time for industry on both sides of our temporary border to work together to create a better, cleaner America for the survival and well being of the next generation. We need to set a positive yet practical environmental example here in America, for the rest of the world.
- Improvements to BC's highways, beginning with the construction of Interstate 5 from Vancouver, BC, north to Alaska, will open up the rest of British Columbia to population and industry, thus creating additional business and jobs. New Federal (US) transportation funds for interstate highway systems will promote trade and economic growth. There is a strong possibility that Alberta, the Yukon, and other provinces may soon follow BC's lead and Interstate 5 may one day connect San Diego, California to Anchorage, Alaska.
- For the first time since it's purchase in 1867, Alaska will be physically linked to the rest of the United States.
- Gasoline taxes and revenues need to be used for highways, bridges, and transit authorities. A portion would go toward funding the research and development of better and cleaner means of energy, transportation and fuels.
- Serious consideration needs to be given to the expansion of our "Sky Train" rapid transit system to the rest of the lower mainland.
- Statehood would eliminate the need for sell-offs, like that of our past FastCat ferries, and BC rail lines and Coquihalla tollbooth revenues, to balance our BC budget.
- There will no longer be a need to waste millions of business and tax dollars on the labeling and printing of French on everything manufactured and imported into BC. Compulsory French language education in our BC schools will be eliminated.
- We would like to see non-violent offenders be given the opportunity to engage in productive work while incarcerated, and be given a portion of their earnings upon discharge to start a new life. This would reduce the cost to taxpayers for prison operations and also be a training opportunity for prisoners.
- The party would propose that extremely serious crimes, such as serial murderers, serial rapists and crimes against children be dealt with on a separate basis, possibly as "Crimes Against Humanity".
- The party would also propose a change to the Young Offenders Act where young offenders would be held more accountable. Tougher laws for repeat offenders would punish the guilty and allow for greater freedom for the majority of our law abiding young people in BC. "The foundation of our society begins in the home".
- British Columbians will no longer be required to register their firearms with Ottawa. As a state, BC could draft its own gun laws.
- The equality for all British Columbians, regardless of race, color, sex, age, religion, etc. would be guaranteed by a new State Constitution.
- Job markets across the United States will now be open to all British Columbians and BC will attract the best of North America's work force.
- From forestry to mining, manufacturing to agriculture, high tech and research, to name a few, BC will prove to be on the cutting edge and one of North America's employment leaders.
- The Party would like to see our golden age citizens be given a choice to continue in the work force while still receiving 50% of their pensions, and having to pay only 50% of their employment income tax after turning 65 years of age.
- British Columbia's military bases and armed forces would once again receive the necessary funding to create a modern, elite force to be proud of.
- The US Coast Guard will patrol our shores from the Mexican border to Alaska, thus making it harder for criminals and illegal immigrants to enter not only BC, but the rest of the country.
- Homeland Security will make BC harder for criminals and terrorists to enter and exist within our country.
- A voluntary career in the United States Armed Forces will become a viable option for many of our citizens.
- As a state, BC will once again see the return and introduction of events and entertainment such as the NBA, NFL, MLB, and major sporting events and concerts, many of which have left or choose not to come due to the taxes and border complications.
- Many independent and network TV shows, movies & videos are filmed in BC. Film and music is a huge industry and statehood would encourage it's growth.
- With our own STAR on the flag we will now be linked to our brothers and sisters to the north and south, thus bringing to realization the dreams of our forefathers, the original founders of the BC Annexation Movement, back in 1869.
Today I invite each one of you to join forces with us for a once in a lifetime opportunity to be a part of history in the making. Vote for Annexation and your voice will be heard and recorded for eternity. Together we can take the mistakes and successes of America's last 200 plus years and create the ultimate and newest state.
Whether we accept it or not, British Columbia, the rest of North America and the world around us, is changing quickly. Fires, disease, terrorist attacks, global warming, the list goes on and on.
The Human Race is a relay where we hand off our accomplishments and achievements, mistakes and blunders to the next generation. What are we going to pass on? Our young people are the runners and the architects of the future. It is our solemn duty to pass on the best possible foundation, guidance and tools they will need to build a better tomorrow.
Regardless of race, color, religion, sex or age we must unite together to manage and adapt to continual changes to ensure the survival and well being of future generations.
For the sake of those who follow, we must act on annexation to the US now, before it's too late. Reach out to those around you and share the news that we now have another choice; Annexation.
With every vote cast in our next provincial election we must send this loud, clear message to Ottawa, "We have had enough and demand our freedom and independence".
Ottawa's track record has proven that BC will never have a voice or be taken seriously. British Columbians must have a voice in the affairs that affect us now.
With the help of you, my fellow Canadians and Americans, I hope to draft a new chapter in the history of British Columbia entitled, "The Greatest Years". |
